1. What sizes of Goldendoodles do you specialize in?
At RVA Doodles, we focus on miniature and medium-sized Goldendoodles, and we are considering a standard size in the future. According to the Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA), Goldendoodle sizes are classified as:
• Miniature: 15-30 pounds, 14-17 inches at the shoulder
• Medium: 30-45 pounds, 17-21 inches at the shoulder
• Standard: 45+ pounds, 21+ inches at the shoulder
Our miniature/medium Goldendoodles are perfect for families looking for a smaller-sized dog with a big heart!
2. What colors of Goldendoodles do you raise?
We specialize in Goldendoodles with the following beautiful coat colors:
• Solid red
• Red tuxedo
• Red with small amounts of white
• Cream
• Apricot
• Other unique variations
Our puppies have gorgeous, soft coats with the perfect blend of color and texture.
3. Do you have a spay and neuter policy?
Yes! All our puppies come with a spay and neuter agreement, and we require that dogs be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age at the cost of the purchaser. This ensures the long-term health and well-being of your pet while maintaining the integrity of our breeding program.
4. Where are your puppies raised?
Our puppies are lovingly raised inside our home in Midlothian, VA. We focus on proper socialization, ensuring they are exposed to everyday sights, sounds, and activities to prepare them for a smooth transition into their forever homes.
5. Do you perform health testing on your breeding dogs?
Yes! We prioritize the health of our puppies by conducting comprehensive health testing on all our breeding dogs. This includes screening for genetic conditions and ensuring they are physically sound for breeding.
6. What makes RVA Doodles different from other breeders?
We are a family-owned business that prioritizes quality over quantity. We aim to raise Goldendoodles with excellent health, temperaments, and socialization. Our mission is to spread joy and kindness through our Goldendoodles, and we are committed to the well-being of each puppy from day one.
7. Do you crate train your puppies?
Yes! We start crate training at the appropriate age. By the end of the 8 weeks, our puppies are able to sleep through the night in their crate and are usually accident-free. This helps ensure an easier transition for families when the puppy goes home.
8. Does RVA Doodles potty train puppies?
Yes! We begin the potty-training process using artificial turf starting at 3-4 weeks of age. The turf provides the most realistic potty-training experience and helps puppies learn where to go. Many of our families have reported that their puppies have little to no accidents once they transition to their forever homes.
9. Can families visit the puppies?
Due to health concerns and the fact that young puppies are not fully vaccinated, we allow visits only after a deposit is placed and during puppy pick day. This policy helps ensure the safety and well-being of our puppies.
10. How can I see updates about your litters and dogs?
We’re active on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok! Follow us for adorable updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and exciting news about upcoming litters. Search for RVA Doodles on your favorite platform.
11. Will you fly puppies?
We are happy to meet you at Richmond International Airport (RIC) if you’d like to fly your puppy home. If you’re interested in using a flight nanny, we are happy to discuss the process and assist in coordinating.
